The above collection of photos are all of the same family, destitute emigrants from Arkansas, who have gone to the State of Michigan searching for work in the year 1940. And what you see in the photos are, plus most likely a collection of old blankets, almost certainly the sum total of their possesions. And this is exactly what the great majority of you can look forward to in the coming years. For the United States is down the shitter folks. Through mostly the auspices of the Bush gang of criminals, but not only they are to be blamed for this disaster. Just as you cannot blame all that happened in the 30's and 40's alone on Hubert Hoover. No my friends, this has been a long time in the making and it will be as long or longer before there is any recovery. A very long time. So here I give you what became known as the New American Anthem of the 30's. And what well could become the Anthem of the present era. So listen up and see if you can't learn the words because without a doubt you will be singing it sooner than not.
After you have absorbed the power of this song you can go here and and read a review that explains just why this song was not only a huge hit in 1934 but how, being universial in it's message, it fits in perfectly with what is happening today.
And I fear, will continue for a long, long time. This due to the "Team" the President elect is assembling in an attempt to deal with this, the worst economic crisis in United States history! Far worse in my estimation that the depression of the 1930's which I, as you may recall, was born into and grew up during so I do have some experience. For no one in Hoover's administration had the balls to loot the treasury as is being done by the Bush crime family at this moment.
But Obama doesn't seem to have any better answer if you look at the people he has appointed to solve the problem. Most of them re-treads from Clintons administration that stood by and watched millions of jobs get shipped over seas. Or people who have been riding in the van of the train that the free market looters have now run off the tracks into the deepest ditch man has ever known. And without a whimper of dissent. And anyone who calls himself an economic expert and yet maintains he did not see this disaster coming already some 2 to 3 years ago should have no place in the crew that's supposed to fix it.
And when you add to this the fact that he seems to have bought hook line and sinker the Pentagon's bullshit about the war in Afghanistan. Which, what with the plans he has so far outlined, means the costs of this fiasco in favor of the Carlyl group. Poppy Bush's former outfit. Which means nothing less than a transfer of the hugely wasteful costs of the fiasco in Iraq to the even more fruitless occupation and destruction of Afghanistan. Which almost certainly will lead to open warfare with Pakistan if the Pentagon has it's way. Which is almost assured seeing as how Obama is going to keep the present Bush criminal and torture enabler Gates on as secretary of defense. And already the Pentagon has put in a demand even more money. A budget that equals that of all the rest of the world combined and these bastards can't get along but need more! And this from a country where millions of citizens are faced with losing thier homes, where unemployment is rampaging towards heights unknown for generation, and where the soup kitchens cannot keep up with demand.
And from the looks of things they will get it. At whose cost? Why yours my friends. And your children. And theirs. So if you are prudent you'll start learning the words of the song 'cause you'll be singing it before long.
And I do hope all you palefaces out there enjoy the shit out of your turkey as you celebrate the greatest genocide that has ever taken place on this earth.
