Just Foreign Policy Iraqi Death Estimator

"The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to the point where it becomes stronger than the democratic state itself. That in its essence is fascism - ownership of government by an individual, by a group or any controlling private power."

Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882-1945), 32nd US president

"It is an old maxim and a very sound one, that he that dances should always pay the fiddler. Now, sir, in the present case, if any gentlemen, whose money is a burden to them, choose to lead off a dance, I am decidedly opposed to the people's money being used to pay the fiddler...all this to settle a question in which the people have no interest, and about which they care nothing. These capitalists generally act harmoniously, and in concert, to fleece the people, and now, that they have got into a quarrel with themselves, we are called upon to appropriate the people's money to settle the quarrel."

Abraham Lincoln, January 11, 1837

"Allow the President to invade a neighboring nation, whenever he shall deem it necessary to repel an invasion, and you allow him to do so, whenever he may choose to say he deems it necessary for such a purpose -- and you allow him to make war at pleasure. If today, he should choose to say he thinks it necessary to invade Canada, to prevent the British from invading us, how could you stop him? You may say to him, 'I see no probability of the British invading us' but he will say to you, 'Be silent; I see it, if you don't."

 Abraham Lincoln.

FROM THE PAST, A VIEW OF YOUR FUTURE.

It's real nice when you've been picking lettuce in the hot sun all day to know the wife will have a nice home cooked dinner waiting when you get home isn't it.  And that the kids have had a nice day in school.  But I'll just bet your kids will enjoy the "rustic" furniture.

And remember, all of these photos were taken during my lifetime.

So we have had the second debate and seen just how low McSlime could stoop.  But I'm fairly certain that he'll find a way to get even further down in the GOP pile of shit before many days go by.  As far as I know, and I have been observing National elections since Wendell Wilkie ran against FDR, there is no bottom. No end to the depths these liars will go in order to win.  And wee Johnny, "I'm a war hero so you can't ask me those kind of questions" McSlime is turning out to be the worst.  And believe me, that statement covers a lot of ground.

Just think, now they are trying to pin this total collapse on the poor people who so carelessly went out and borrowed more than they could pay back.  That the implication that they were "Poor Black people" is barely hidden but their brain dead voters get the message.  Have no fear of that.

Now I have had various dealings with banks during my long life although very seldom as a loan taker, I learned what that could lead to during the depression, but I have never before heard of a bank or any other loan institution that would loan people money when they knew damn well the people taking the loan didn't have a chance in hell of ever paying it back.  But of course, that they did exactly this does in no way imply they are at fault.  No siree!  It's them black folk gettin uppity and above themselves and wantin to live the same as white folks instead of what they is used to that's caused it all.  Next thing you know they'll be wantin shoes for the whole damn family too.

Ain't got a damn thing to do with million dollar salaries for the boss.  Hell fire man, a million bucks a day for runnin the company into the ground ain't too much is it? (Think WaMu here)

So go here and read the truth about the who has managed the economy  best since WWII.  And then ask your self the simplest question of them all; Can I afford to have another Rethuglican in charge of the country?

And in the present case, one who is hell bent on starting at least one more war, while totally destroying the American economy trying to do the impossible and win the two we are already engaged in.  For what purpose no one knows and something that simple minded little shit couldn't possibly explain.  But saving American "Honor" is far more important to him than saving lives.  And the fact that there can never be any "Honor" in the war in Iraq is totally forgotten.  Any more than there was any "Honor"attatched to Hitler's invasion of Poland.

So just go ahead and vote for Johnny McSlime and Tillie from the Tundra.  From what I've heard that other billion dollar boondoggle, the fence at the Mexican border, has any number of holes in it so perhaps, if you wait for a real dark night, you can sneak across and get your old job back in the car factory.

McSLIME'S AND TILLIE'S SOLUTION TO ANY FOREIGN POLICY PROBLEM

From friend Rex way out in Roo country:

My dad and his brother in Sydney during the thirties had to fish for lunch. No catchum, no eatum. Hungry around the full moon. Their dad had lost his job at the beginning of the depression after protesting the unfair dismissal of a fellow worker and didn't work again until the war.

Here's a letter to an aid agency (CWA - country women's association) in the West Australian goldfields in the 30's where it's 'kn hot in summer and 'kn cold in winter.

Dear Madam, I am sorry that I cannot address you by name as I haven't had the pleasure of knowing it, but I am writing to ask you, if you would kindly help me, as my family and myself are in great distress. My husband has been prospecting here for three years, and we, the family has lived here in the bush in a bag humpy ( ie. sackcloth and sticks) for that time trying to get a living. Although at times, things have looked very hopeful, which has urged us to carry on, we are now in the unhappy position of being at the end of our resources in every way, and my husband is now seeking work. I have a daughter of 15 years, also a son of 13 years, who have no boots or shoes to wear, and we are all without decent clothes, as everything is past mending and we haven't a blanket to use, as our only covers are bags sewn together, so if you would be kind enough to help me in any way, by sending me any old things of any kind, I and my family would be extremely thankful, hoping you will answer my appeal as I shall be anxiously waiting an answer ......

Thanks Rex.  Brought old memories back.  Along with tears.  We at least had blankets.
