Finally!  The family has gone back to the frozen North and we are alone.  For one whole day.  For the next lot arrives tomorrow afternoon.  So I'll try and get something done.  But I have to get up early tomorrow and go to the doc. shop and pee in a bottle and give them some blood.  Don't you think 9 o'clock is early for an old fart like me to be doing something silly like that?

WILL YOUR CHRISTMAS DINNER 2009 BE SIMILAR? 

'Cause it sure as hell could be if you help elect wee Johnny McSlime and Tillie from the Tundra.  Because they are both good old fashion God fearing, right wing, steal from the poor and give to the rich, Rethuglicans.  Of course, most millionaires do feel that way I suppose.  And just think, if Tillie were to be elected you, the taxpayer, will be paying for her rather lavish taste in clothing.  How do I know that?  Fairly easy to deduce actually for if she can charge the State of Alaska some 17,000 bucks for staying in her own home and then charge them for travel expenses and $750 a night hotel rooms for her daughter to attend a conference she wasn't even invited to, the mind boggles to think of what she would do once she got her grubby little paws into the Federal purse.

As it is the assholes that are "Running" the country haven't got a clue as to what to do in the present economic crisis.  And McSlime least of all.  But even a country boy like me can see that giving the bastards that caused this mess the keys to the safe and then leaving them alone in the strong room is not a real good idea.

And now it has come to light that the biggies in the banking world have not the slightest intention of making loans easier for you and yours which supposedly why they gave them the money.  Oh no!  What are they going to do with the money?  Buy up weaker banks that's what.

But what the fuck difference would it make if they were willing to loan money to the people who need it most.  People who are about to lose their homes due to this gigantic swindle the self same banks have perpetrated on the world.  Or small businesses that are being choked due to the lack of liquidity.  Because the truth of the matter is that not many people are in the mood to go out and borrow money with the economic insecurity that exists now.  Who goes out and borrows money when they might well be out of work tomorrow?  Only CEO's of big finiancial firmsdo that.   Not your average working man that's for damn sure.

But ignorance on the one hand, (McSlime and Tillie's case.) and idiological grounds of the Neo-Nazi Cons on the other make it impossible for the thugs in power to do anything constructive that could mitigate this crisis anyway.  And what is that? I hear you cry.  Very simple my dear Watson!  Put all that money in the pockets of the people who paid it into the Federal coffers in the first place.  The same people who are going to have to repay it once it disappears down the shitter just like all the rest of the money these bastards have stolen.  

But put it in the the peoples pockets and they will spend it.   Simple as that. They will buy goods and services with it which in turn will create demand which in turn will create jobs.  Pretty simple shit don't you think?  Well don't give me credit for thinking of it because it has been tried before.  By who? You ask.  Good old FDR that's who.  And the thing is, it worked.  But seeing as how these assholes that call themselves Republicans have spent their whole lifetime repudiating any and everything FDR did you can't expect them to emulate him now can you.  Hell fire!  They'd rather cut off their own nuts with a rusty fish knife than do that.  And that they destroy the country in the process means sweet fuck all to these bastards.

And the way they are "solving" the crisis has also been done before also.  By one Herbie Hoover.  And you can see where that got us.  A huge number of working families who had to eat Christmas dinner under just the same conditions as the family in the photo above are.

So go ahead and vote for McSlime and the less than delightful Tillie.  But remember one thing.  The horror that the French Revolution turned into came from just these same conditions.  Just as did the Spanish civil war.  And Hitler's rise to power.
