Now I am certain you lot are beginning to tire of my constant harping on the depression era and not only what took place then but the fact that it is about to happen once again. Which I am also pretty certain, most of you do not believe can happen. We are far too advanced etc. etc. ad nauseam and all the rest of the advertising driven bullshit that spews from the mouths of so called and for the most part self appointed "Experts" in a never ending stream. In fact I read one of these bullshit artists take on the coming depression and how it will be different from the 1930's due to our "Advancement." This time people will hole up in their homes and watch TV! and cease to interact with each other. What a crock of putrid pig's excrement! Doesn't the asshole who wrote this understand even the basics of modern economic practise? Like things like electricity cost money? And living along the side of the road like these people had to does not include such luxury?

You see any TV here? Of course there was no TV back in 1940 when this photo was made but there was radio. But you also needed mains electricity to make those work. And I can inform all of you that my family did not get hooked up to the mains electric supply until 1948. We did have a radio though. Just couldn't listen to it due to lack of "Juice" as electricity was known as back then. And even though BPA was a government program that built both Bonneville dam and Grand Coulee dam which made electricity both available and inexpensive thoughout the area where I grew up they still charged money for it. As I am sure they will continue to do no matter how deep the coming depression bites.

But to my mind it is not a question of how deep this depression will bite but for how long. And how long it will take for the recovery to come. If it ever does. And don't sit their like you're waiting to get fucked because, even though you probably didn't get off you sure as hell have been fucked. To the tune of some 5 trillion dollars and still counting! With Hank and Benny shoveling your money out the door to all their friends almost faster than they can fucking print the stuff. Which means only one thing: run away inflation is just around the corner. And when that hits, as it inevitqably will do, your ass is grass baby. And the Chinese are gonna be mowing the lawn!

And as we all know, cheap labor is the name of their game so guess where your future lies. Slaving in some sweat shop making plastic junk for the people in the Far East that have swollowed the U.S. up and have gotten rich in the process.

Of course there is an alternative. You can still be an independent operator like the lady in the following photo.

Which is the sight that greeted the Spanish conquistadors led by Hernan Cortes. But being superior in fire power and viciousness they quickly subdued the indigenous population and in short order they not only bankrupted Mexico but their own homeland Spain. An event so devestating that Spain is only just recovering from now and in great part, the Mexican indigenous population have never recovered from.

But at the same time a few became fabulously wealthy. Wealth which for the most part they have managed to retain through the Inquisition, the Spanish civil war and even the installation of Democracy. But the Spanish peasant had to suffer 500 years of terrible deprivation so that they could keep their ill gotten gains. And the same thing has happened in Mexico where you have some of the richest people in the world, almost to a man descendents of the original Spanish Conquistadors, living alongside some of the most abject poverty the world has ever known.

So don't believe it cannot happen in the good old U.S. of fucking A. because it can. And if the people who are running the shop now and look to continue running it under Obama's administration have their way it will. If you don't believe it just look at the economic team he has put together. All of them deeply involved in creating the mess we are in today and dedicated to the "more of the same" policy of Hank and Ben. i.e. Shovel as much of your money into the pockets of their already grossly rich friends as quickly as possibler and see if a little doesn't trickle down to your level. Well don't hold your breath is my advice. It didn't trickle down when St. Ronnie tried it and it ain't gonna do it this time either.

But don't worry too much. Your mothers will enjoy standing in the heat of the noonday sun in the midst of all the traffic and the smog selling Kleenex to the rich 'cause the pension she and your father worked their collective butts off to save for has gone right down the shitter along with the house they owned and the fucking 97 inch flat screen TV and all the other shit. Just like you'll just love working 3 jobs so your kids can eat one hot meal a day. GOP darling and the Senate's resident idiot John McInsane thinks this is the only way to go. For you that is. But not for him and all his millionaire buddies.
